The Community Council are investigating the shared purchase of a hand held “speed gun” with other communities to allow residents to monitor speeds on our roads. Training would be given by Police Scotland and monitoring would have to be carried out under their guidelines.
To allow for a good rota system to be put in place Police Scotland require a minimum of 8 residents to form a team.
In expectation of the purchase of a speed gun we are now looking for volunteers. You would take part in speed surveys at various times throughout the year, the number and duration of these will depend on how many communities join together to buy the equipment. There would be a minimum of two people operating the equipment at all times.
If you are interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will keep you in touch with the progress of this exciting initiative.
